POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Registration: A non-refundable fee of $20 per student or $35 per family is due yearly at the time of registration.

Payment of fees: Tuition will be divided into monthly payments that will be due by the 5th of each month. Tuition will be the same each month regardless of holidays etc. Payment for the whole year in full will also be accepted. There is no pro-rating for missed classes. 

Recital fees:  Recital fees cover the cost of theater/gymnasium rental and other production costs. All students who participate in the recital will receive 4 tickets which are included in the recital cost. A DVD of the recital will be available for those who would like to purchase it for a small fee. The recital cost is $50 for this year.

Costume fees: Students are required to purchase their costume(s) for competitions and the year end performance. Costume fees are non-refundable. This fee will be determined depending on your child's instructor's costume choice. (This does NOT include tights, shoes and other extras)

Holidays: Classes will not be held during major holidays. A parent note will be send home as a reminder the month of any holidays when class will not be held. There may be an option to make up classes if the instructor does decided to hold Saturday make ups. 

Dress code: Required dance wear and shoes are to be worn at all times. For safety reasons we ask that students wear no excess or dangling  jewelry. Hair that is long must be tied back from face and no mid-drifts please. We ask that our students keep a modest attire for dance as there will be a lot of parents and students in and out of the studio.


Ballet: Any student in ballet is required to wear a plain colored leotard and pink tights. Ballet slippers are REQUIRED and socks and bare feet are not allowed in this environment. Pointe shoes are required for those students who are participating in the pointe class. (Skirts, leg warmers, cover ups etc are allowed for warm up, but must be removed as instructed)


Jazz: Students are required to wear gore boot type jazz shoes, a fitted tank or tee and black jazz pants. For lyrical and contemporary jazz classes the instructors may allow bear paws.


Hip-Hop: Hip-Hop students are allowed to wear loose fitting clothing and sneakers are preferred, however street clothing, and black soled shoes are not permitted.


Tap: For tap we ask that no long pants are worn. Fitted dance attire is required as well as tap shoes (any style of tap shoe will work for this class).


Ballroom: Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in! If you have ballroom shoes you would like to wear feel free, otherwise jazz shoes or non-black soled sneakers are permitted.
*Because our ballroom classes are Latin and Western feel free to dress the part!!


Teaching Methods and Style: To ensure proper technique and form of your student. Appropriate physical contact is often an important part of a dancers training (especially in classic ballet training). This is done as an effective way to help your student progress as well as feel more confident about their abilities.

Parent's responsibility: It is the responsibility of the parents to be aware of their child's schedule and we ask that children are not to be left longer than 5 min after class unless otherwise cleared with students instructor. Students may not leave with anyone other than a parent or guardian unless the studio is notified prior to the end of the students class.


Absences: Here at CSA we are serous about dance and want your child to be present in class. If you child does have to miss a class, please notify SLIM or the appropriate teacher PRIOR to your child missing class. 

Injuries: Here at SLIM our instructors do their very best to prevent injuries, however as they are sometimes unavoidable parents and legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained during a SLIM class resulting from normal activity or any other activity conducted by the student before, during or after class. 

Photo release: SLIM and CSA is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students for use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and any other promotional material.  SLIM & CSA have the permission to copyright such photographs in their name.
