Here at Center Stage America we are excited to introduce our wonderful staff!


MaryAnn Chapman: {Owner/Director}
MaryAnn has taught dance for over 25 years.  She began Center Stage America Dance Co. in 1993.  Her dance company has competed at many multi state dance competitions where they earned top awards.  Among many were over 75 first place titles.  They also earned very prestigious awards such as, “High Point Routine” given to the highest scoring routine of the entire competition (out of 214 routines) ; and “Highest Ranking Team”, given to the team with the highest ranking routines of the competition. She has been the Coach for High School drill  for 6 years where she and her teams have won 4 State Championships. She is currently the Head Coach for the Murray High School Drill Team. She has taught cheer and been a consultant for high school and college teams.  She has judged many competitions and pageants on both City and County and Levels. She is a former Miss Snow College and 1st runner up to Miss Millard County.  She is married to Kent Chapman, and is the mother of seven children and the grandmother of eight!



Jordan Peterson: Jordan has been dancing for 20 years training in Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet/Pointe, Drill Team, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, Tap and African. Jordan first started dancing at age 3 with CSA DANCE and hasn't stopped since!! In high school Jordan was a member of the Manti High School Drill Team for 4 years, 3 of which her team placed 1st at the state competition. There she served as vice president and choreographer. After high school she attended Snow College where she was a member of the Cheer/Stunt team and the Snow Dance Company where she began to focus her degree on dance and dance education. After graduation from Snow she chose to attend the University of Utah where she is currently working on a BFA of Modern Dance as well Masters of Dance Education. Jordan has  trained in master classes and performed with many professional companies including the Martha Graham Company, The Neta Dance Company, MOMIX, Johannes Wieland, Odyssey Dance Theatre, Andrea Millers Gallim Dance, Repertory Dance Theatre and has attended the American College Dance Festival Association for 4 years. Jordan is married to Jon Peteson & lives in Murray. She is currently the assistance drill coach at Murray High. Jordan has a deep love for dance and teaching and is very excited to be a part of CSA!




Aubree Thomson: Aubree has been dancing since the age of 3. She has danced competitively for 15 years. Aubree was part of the top 10 at the national competition in New York for her solo routine and was 3rd runner up for the best of Utah drill team solos. Her freshman year she was part of a 2A state championship dance team for the 5th year in a row. She was a drill mistress for her high school drill team her junior year and has danced on drill for 4 years at 3 different high schools. Aubree has assited with coaching and choreography for Murray High School Spartonians for the past 3 years and taught dance with her mother for 5 years. Aubree is currently is attending the U of U perusing a degree in nursing. She loves to dance and is excited to teach! Aubree is currently taking a break from our CSA family to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fresno, California.





Danielle Thomson: Danielle has been dancing since the age of 3 and throughout her life she has been dancing at competitions all over Utah. She has been trained in Jazz, Lyrical, Military, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Modern, and many other styles of dancing. Since the second grade, Danielle has placed 1st and 2nd in nearly every solo competition, and has performed on many different dance teams. She was on Murray High School’s competitive drill team as a sophomore, and served as Junior Drill Mistress her Junior year as well as Drill Mistress her Senior year. As Drill Mistress, she choreographed and "cleaned" the dance routines for her drill dream, those of which placed in  the Region competition. Not only is Danielle a dancer, but she is also a wonderful teacher who loves to teach and share her love of dance with everyone around her.  


Emily Hall: Emily has been dancing for 16 years; training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Drill Team. Emily danced at Utah Dance Center for 13 years where she learned proper Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Tap technique.  While dancing at Utah Dance Center she was in a variety of dance productions performed at Kingsbury Hall. These productions included Peter Pan, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, and many more.  Emily was a member of the Murray High School Drill team, the Spartonians, for 3 years where she choreographed several dances. Her senior year she was chosen to serve as head captain based on her dancing ability and leadership among her peers. Emily received the Knight Diana Drill Team award, which is given to the teammate who shows excellence in leadership, communication, and choreography among other things. This was presented to her by her Drill Coaches her senior year.  She also received the All Region Drill Team award.  Emily is continuing her education at Salt Lake Community College, later transferring up to the University of Utah and will be majoring in Elementary Education. Emily loves teaching the girls at CSA and loves being a part of this great company!

Carol Whittaker: Carol Whittaker currently teaches 5th grade for Jordan School district. Besides having a degree in Elementary Education, she also has a degree from BYU as a dance specialist in the college of Physical Education. She believes that children of all ages can benefit from creative dance.  Her beginning classes will focus on the dance elements of time, space, and energy.  Dancers will explore, create, and problem solve as they use children's literature and music to discover the exhilaration of dance.
